Projects General Manager

emew Corporation is an international group, specializing in providing leading-edge clean technology processes and solution packages to recycle metals, reduce waste and recover valuable resources. Customers are spread across the world and across a range of industrial sectors.

The Projects General Manager is a new international position that reports directly to the CEO. The chosen candidate will lead emew’s global fulfillment function, building a team of seasoned professionals as the business grows to manage and deliver all projects to the agreed time, cost, and quality targets. The role involves considerable client interface throughout the project, up to and including delivery, installation/commissioning, and customer acceptance.

This is an international position, managing direct reports in sourcing/procurement, logistics, warehousing, and project engineering. The role involves also supervising alongside group financial control the many cross-border transactions that are involved in emew’s global trading model.

Whilst responsible for fulfillment, this is very much a commercial role, assembling and managing a global team of system component suppliers for emew to integrate, package, and deliver a complete engineered solution that answers clients’ problems and meets emew’s own financial objectives.

Person specification

Engineering, metallurgy, or chemistry degree, with some experience in process engineering and international project management. Preferably with exposure to mining and metals processing, or recycling of metals and hydrometallurgy, or petrochemical, or water treatment industries.

Previous experience of multi–disciplinary team management in an engineering or technical field is highly desirable along with a willingness to travel extensively across the globe.

The chosen candidate will demonstrate an ability to build strong client relationships and possess a creative and pragmatic mind that relishes solving customer problems whilst being able to maintain a financial discipline and control that will contribute towards meeting the corporate targets.

The person must portray a confident manner and possess excellent communication and presentation skills that can utilize the latest digital technology. As the successful candidate will be building a new team in a small, dynamic group that employs novel technologies, he/she will be a self-starter, happy to work remotely in a relatively unstructured environment, and be excited by a creative challenge that offers a real opportunity to make a lasting impression on the organization. 

Responsibilities

Overall Project management

Schedule, source, integrate, factory test, deliver, and hand over to the customer emew metal recovery package solutions to the agreed cost/time parameters following acceptance by the client of project proposal developed through global sales and global engineering functions. Control project profitability against margin expectations established during order acceptance.

Major Components

Project planning/scheduling – review contract on client order acceptance and subsequently manage. Finalize outline bill of material/budget into detailed engineering/specification package and determine fulfilment commercial model, sourcing plan, and schedule, with detailed cost and margin targets and a published project timeline.

Procurement – Assemble a global team of trusted supply partners. Devise project sourcing plans. Place final/detailed drawings and schedule for delivery with selected suppliers at order placement, having negotiated acceptable terms. Progress chase and inspect/accept supplies. Drive cost/quality improvements, including wherever possible modular and standardized equipment items.

Logistics/warehousing – Establish a durable project material movement and integration model, incorporating emew’s lead-time ambitions, sourcing variations, and acknowledging trading/customs complications.  Develop logistics expertise in-house to improve knowledge and management of global material movements in respect of cost, packaging, insurance, and lead-time. Manage any warehouse requirements implicit in the model, including stock management systems. Ensure cost-effective, on-time delivery of emew system components to the client from supplier or emew warehouse for final integration and assembly at client site. Track and regularly update project progress for client and emew team vs timeline and budget at all key project stages.

Installation/commissioning – A critical project engineer/management end game responsibility – the goal being speedy and delighted customer acceptance of plant with a certificate of acceptance to secure final payment. This is a vital closing stage in the project management process and a lasting impression point for the customer that may offer repeat sales opportunities. At this stage, the final profitability of the project for emew can be assessed and comparisons of actuals versus budget and performance against the project plan and original schedule can be considered to judge the overall performance of the emew team and the success of the project.

Project Engineer – Electrical (India)

Reporting to the Vice President – Engineering you will make a valuable contribution as a team player to the organization’s success in developing opportunities and fulfillment of project and development. You will be based at Vadodara, Gujarat.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Tender specification preparation
  • Review of tender in line with the scope of work.
  • Electrical drawing preparation and review, PLC logic, and VFD principles knowledge is an advantage
  • Technical coordination with client
  • Supervision of installation and commissioning of Plant
  • International codes and standards understanding is added advantage
  • Other duties as deemed appropriate

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical)
  • Experience 5-7 years in mining, metals, recycling treatment of non-ferrous metals.
  • Ability to travel frequently with a full unrestricted passport, Travelling might be more than 40% internationally and domestic at client site.
  • Small team management experience
  • The ability to engage with and build strong relationships with clients.
  • Proven track record in project handling.
  • Demonstrable creativity in solving customer problems

Warehouse Keeper/Logistic Co-ordinator (India)

Reporting to Assistant Manager- Accounts, you will make a valuable contribution as a team player to the organization’s success in developing opportunities and fulfillment of projects and development. You will be based at presently Makarpura GIDC, Vadodara, Gujarat.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage Warehouse.
  • Controlling all the Inbound, Outbound, and inventory activities
  • Monitoring of all warehouse activities – receipt and dispatch
  • Coordinate with technical purchase & take up the charge of material once cleared technically at the supplier site
  • Coordinate with suppliers and local transporters for delivery point of view to warehouses including unloading
  • Coordinate with Client for delivery of items /equipment, unloading point of view, and confirmation on safe receipt of materials
  • Responsible for International logistics through DHL – packing, booking, pick-ups and ensure proper documentation & ensure delivery to the client
  • Responsible for international logistic Coordinate with freight forwarder – packing sizes, packing materials ordering, inquiry preparation for freight forwarder, finalizing freight forwarder and issue of order, preparation & providing required documents for export, ensure delivered to the client
  • Maintain reports in Talley
  • Manage stocks of items
  • Support Senior Accountant for GST-related transactions and documents preparation
  • Support Senior Accountant for Preparation of invoice for a local client, exports, and documents related to exports to a freight forwarder
  • Other duties as deemed appropriate

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Commerce
  • Experience 5-7 years in handling warehouse, local logistics, DHL international bookings & coordination, international logistic coordination, Tally, GST
