Google is ‘Up and Running’ on 100% Renewable Energy Sources

Last year, Google made a goal to run their data centers on entirely renewable energy sources. In order to meet their promise, they have purchased three wind power plants across the U.S., totaling 534.6 megawatts, bringing their total up to 3 gigawatts in solar and wind capacity. These energy investments are enough to power all of their products and services, and have made Google the largest corporate purchaser of renewables this year. Google is not alone in this accomplishment, as previously reported, entire countries like Costa Rica are making the same commitment, as well as other corporations such as Amazon and Apple, the former which is in the process of building a wind farm in Texas.
