Cobalt Mine Revival: High-Grade Cobalt in Ontario

Cobalt, Ontario was once home to the Silver Banner Mine, active between 1927 and 1958. New samples have been taken at the same site, showing grades of up to 1.14% cobalt from the underlying calcite-quartz vein system. Sampling is being completed at various sites in the surrounding area of Cobalt, Ontario by a partnership forming between Cobalt One, CobalTech, and First Cobalt. These companies are looking to undergo major cobalt exploration and development, and will control 50 historic mining operations over 10 000 hectares of land upon completion of this merger. With electrical vehicles bringing widespread attention and increased demand for cobalt, it’s exciting to Canadian soil playing a part in the recent Cobalt-boom.
